Australian Council For International Development (ACFID)
The ACPCC is an ACFID Interim Full Member and signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct. ACFID is the peak Council for Australian not-for-profit aid and development organisations. The ACPCC is a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct, which is a voluntary, self-regulatory sector code of good practice. As a signatory we are committed and fully adhere to the ACFID Code of Conduct, conducting our work with transparency, accountability and integrity. Australian Global Health Alliance
The ACPCC is proud to be a member of the Australian Global Health Alliance, the member-based peak body for Australian global health organisations. The Alliance has a mandate to strengthen the global health ecosystem through national and global connections, partnerships, research, and innovation, promoting best practices in global health, and advocacy. They host the secretariats of the Australian Network of WHO Collaborating Centres and Pacific Friends of Global Health. Prof Marion Saville AM and Prof Helen Evans AO are active Board Members of the Alliance.
Gavi – The Vaccine Alliance
In November 2024, the ACPCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to strengthen collaborative efforts in the global fight against cervical cancer. This partnership formalises a relationship that began when ACPCC joined the Australian Global Health Alliance and continued to grow through initiatives like the Pacific Friends of Global Health. The MOU signals a new era of support for global vaccination programs and cervical cancer screening, especially in underserved regions.
As ACPCC’s partnership with Gavi takes shape, the organisation hopes to learn from Gavi’s expertise in market-shaping strategies for diagnostics, particularly HPV testing. This aligns with the Quad Cancer Moonshot’s mission to improve global access to essential diagnostic tools.
This new collaboration with Gavi will not only magnify ACPCC’s global impact but also accelerate the worldwide elimination of cervical cancer. Through this collaboration, the ACPCC is bringing life-saving programs to communities worldwide and redefining what’s possible in cancer prevention.
Pacific Friends of Global Health
Pacific Friends of Global Health (Pacific Friends) serves three of the world’s most significant global health organisations, among which is Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Pacific Friends promote a greater understanding of the three organisations and aim to mobilise political and financial support in the Pacific region. An important part of their mission is to raise awareness of the global health issues in the context of the Pacific region and engage with key leaders and decision makers. Prof Marion Saville and Prof Helen Evans are active Board Members of the Pacific Friends.
World Health Organization
The ACPCC has partnered with WHO in the Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO), the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) and the Southeast Asian Regional Office (SEARO) to support and coordinate the development of cervical cancer prevention and control strategies in both regions.
The Regional Eastern Mediterranean Strategy was launched at a hybrid press conference in January 2023, hosted by WHO leaders and joined by women who have survived cervical cancer, advocates fighting the disease and high-level speakers.
WHO South East Asia Regional Office contracted ACPCC to develop guidance for program managers to implement a HPV-led secondary prevention program, with support from the University of Melbourne. Whilst being contracted by the Southeast Asia Office, this guidance will be hosted within the WHO Learning Academy, in order for the manual to be globally available.
