Home-Based Self-Collection by Telehealth
VCS Pathology provides a home-based self-collection service to referring health practitioners. This means that practitioners can support patients with home-based self-collection via telehealth in instances where clinic attendance is a challenge.
The home-based self-collection service
This service can be utilised by health practitioners to support eligible patients to self-collect a sample for HPV testing at home, following a telehealth consultation.
Process for home-based self-collection
- Telehealth consultation
- Send a request to VCS Pathology
- Self-collection kit mailed to patient
- Patient takes the sample at home
- Results sent to your practice
- Discuss results with your patient
IMPORTANT: These kits must be ordered by a health care provider and accompanied by a signed pathology form.
