Eliminating Cervical Cancer Conference 2023 (ECC2023)

On Friday 17th November, Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action 2023, the C4 hosted the first ECC2023 (previously named the Preventing Cervical Cancer Conference [PCC]). The theme of the conference was ‘From Prevention to Elimination’, with a specific focus on cervical screening in Australia, New Zealand and LMICs.

The afternoon event was held over two sessions, with the first session focusing on equity in cervical screening in Australia and New Zealand, and featured panellists Dr Tamara Butler (Aus), Ngaire Sparks (NZ), Scott Walsberger (Aus) and Prof Deborah Bateson (Aus). The second session highlighted experiences of successfully implementing HPV screening in LMICs, and we heard from Dr Margaret Tarere Lehi (Vanuatu), Dr Paulus Ripa (PNG), Dr Ricky Lu (Micronesia), Dr Anu Oomen (India) and Dr Safina Yuma (Tanzania). There was rich engagement from the audience too in this interview and audience Q&A style event.
