Pathology Tests We Offer
Our laboratory, VCS Pathology, is a not-for-profit pathology service specialising in cervical screening and gynaecological health. We offer the following pathology tests:
- Cervical Screening
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) (clinician-collected and self-collected)
- Liquid-based cytology
- Sexual Health
- Chlamydia trachomatis
- Neisseria gonorrhoea
- Trichomonas vaginalis
- Histopathology

- As the HPV reference laboratory, we ensure quality of results.
- We offer a wide range of options to assist practitioners including accepting multiple specimen types for both self-collection and clinician-collection, and a home-based self-collection service.
- We deliver streamlined reporting with a new Laboratory Information System introduced in 2025 to reduce time taken to report results.
- We develop methods to assist practitioners. For example, self-collected swabs for CST can also be tested for CT and/or NG at clinician’s request.
- We provide clinical expertise across a wide range of aspects of cervical screening with a dedicated clinical education team.
