Molecular Laboratory Supervisor

Marco Keung joined the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) through the RMIT student placement program and has since built a career in molecular pathology with a focus on cervical cancer screening.

In his current role as Molecular Supervisor, Marco leads a dedicated team of laboratory technicians and scientists within the molecular department. He oversees HPV testing for cervical screening at ACPCC and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and operational excellence across all laboratory processes.

Marco plays an active role in research and played an important role in clinical validation of self-collection devices and a range of HPV assays employed in cervical cancer screening at ACPCC — advancing innovative approaches to early detection and prevention.

Beyond the laboratory, Marco also provides providing technical training and support for cervical cancer screening programs across the Indo-Pacific region.
