Dr Louise Mitchell is a Research Fellow in the Cervical Cancer Elimination Team at Yardhura Walani, The Australian National University. A non-Indigenous woman of English heritage, Louise was born and raised on Jagera and Turrbal Country in Meanjin (Brisbane). With a background in physiotherapy and a PhD in Paediatrics, she has worked across government and academic sectors as a clinician, researcher, and epidemiologist, with extensive experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Her current work focuses on supporting the implementation and evaluation of the Screen Your Way study, which partners with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to embed HPV self-collection into routine practice, increase cervical screening participation, and support cervical cancer elimination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
