Dr Gina Ogilvie, MD, MSc, FCFP, DrPH, is a Canadian physician-scientist, Professor at the University of British Columbia, and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Global Control of HPV-Related Disease and Cancer. She is internationally recognised for her leadership in HPV prevention, cervical cancer screening, and HPV vaccination policy.
Dr Ogilvie’s research has helped transform cervical cancer prevention in Canada and globally, demonstrating the effectiveness of HPV-based screening and advancing innovative approaches to improve access to screening and vaccination. Her work has informed public health policy, including national and international recommendations on HPV screening, vaccination, and the elimination of cervical cancer.
In addition to her academic role, she serves as a Senior Public Health Scientist with the BC Centre for Disease Control and provides expert advice to organisations including the World Health Organization, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer. Dr Ogilvie has published extensively on HPV-related disease prevention and is a leading advocate for achieving the global goal of eliminating cervical cancer as a public health problem.
