Three leading figures in cervical cancer prevention and care have been confirmed as plenary speakers for the Eliminating Cervical Cancer 2026 Conference (ECC2026): Dr Gina Ogilvie (University of British Columbia), Professor Karen Canfell AC (University of Sydney/Cancer Elimination Collaboration) and Dr Kathleen Schmeler (University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center).
Dr Ogilvie and Professor Canfell will discuss findings from two landmark HPV screening studies that have helped shape cervical screening approaches internationally. Dr Schmeler is an internationally recognised expert in cervical cancer prevention and treatment who has led programs to expand access to screening, diagnosis and cancer care in underserved communities around the world.
The Eliminating Cervical Cancer 2026 Conference will bring together researchers, policymakers, clinicians and public health leaders in Melbourne and online from 25-27 November 2026. The program spans HPV vaccination, cervical screening, pre-cancer treatment and cancer care, providing the latest evidence and emerging developments across the cervical cancer elimination pathway.
