Professor John Kaldor

John Kaldor is a NHMRC Senior Principal Research Fellow and Professor at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales. For over 25 years he has built and led internationally recognised research programs on the epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases. His work has had a particular focus on HIV and other blood-borne and sexually transmitted infections including Human Papillomavirus, and more recently neglected tropical diseases. Professor Kaldor has worked on the development and implementation of public health surveillance systems, investigations of risk factors for infectious disease transmission, and evaluations of public health intervention strategies. With over 600 peer reviewed scientific publications that have been cited collectively over 20,000 times, Professor Kaldor has been a highly influential contributor to public health knowledge and public health policy. Professor Kaldor has also served on numerous policy and advisory committees in Australia and Internationally. He has had close collaborative relationships with researchers in public health programs in a number of countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
