Dr Tamara Butler

Dr Tamara Butler is an Aboriginal early career researcher and Research Fellow at the University of Queensland. She works within the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research Network. Her work is focused on women’s cancers and improving cancer outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities. Dr Butler’s interests also include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander holistic understandings of health and wellbeing and psychosocial aspects of cancer care. Dr Butler was recently awarded an NHRMC Emerging Leader Investigator Grant (GNT2008097) to commence 2023 with a focus on addressing inequities in outcomes of gynaecological cancers that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families.
