Dr Kate Simms

Dr Kate Simms has a PhD in mathematical modelling and works as a postdoctoral research fellow at Cancer Council NSW. Her research focusses on modelling the impact of HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening. She has been involved in modelled evaluations across a range of settings including Australia, New Zealand, England, the United States and China as well as at the global level. These evaluations helped inform policy decisions for Australia, New Zealand and England; in particular, they underpinned a recent major review of the Australian National Cervical Screening Program that resulted in the decision to transition to 5-yearly primary HPV testing in Australia
