Deborah Watson-Jones is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology & International Health in the Clinical Research Department of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She has been based in Tanzania since 1995. Her research interests include the epidemiology and prevention of HPV and related infections, HPV and Ebola vaccines and COVID-19 research in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Sierra Leone and the DRC. She is currently leading 2 clinical trials to evaluate the immunogenicity of single dose HPV vaccination in Tanzanian females and the population impact of male single-dose HPV vaccination in Tanzania. She is a member of the Single-Dose HPV Vaccine Evaluation Consortium; the Africa CDC SAGE committee and she is a board member of the International Papillomavirus Society.
