Deborah Bateson is Professor of Practice at The Daffodil Centre in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney. Deborah has worked as a clinician, researcher and educator in sexual and reproductive health for around 20 years with a focus is on equitable access to evidence-based cervical screening services, contraception care and the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections nationally and internationally. She is Chair of National Cervical Screening Program Self-Collection Implementation Committee, Deputy Chair of the Quality and Safety Monitoring Committee and member of the Clinical Expert Panel. Deborah is also a co-author of the Cervical Screening Guidelines, including the recent updates to the self-collection pathways.
