Aminata is a First Nations woman born in Meanjin (Brisbane). Her ancestral heritage extends from the Meriam, Erubam, Ugaram, and Kulkalgal nations of the Torres Strait. Aminata is a Master of Public Health student with a Bachelor of Social Science and has held research assistant roles with VACCHO, UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, and the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN. She is currently a Research Officer at the Australian National University, working on the Yarning about HPV vaccination project. Aminata is also a co-coordinator of the annual World First Nations Traditional Knowledge Conference facilitated by the Malu Mai Wellness Consultancy; a family-owned company that is committed to addressing the social, emotional, cultural and spiritual well-being of individuals, families and communities on a local, national and international level.
